My journey into midwifery

Kia ora, I'm Jodi, and my journey as a midwife began in 2002 in Cornwall, UK. In 2005, I made the move to Aotearoa New Zealand, and since then, my career has been rich and varied. I've worked as an LMC (Lead Maternity Carer), a Midwifery Educator, and even as the Midwifery Manager of the North Shore maternity unit. Today, I'm back to what I love most: being an LMC midwife, with clinics conveniently located at Village Midwives in Silverdale and in Helensville.

Why I love what I do

I chose midwifery because I wanted to help women have a positive and empowering experience of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. I believe deeply in holistic, personalised care that truly supports the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being of women and their whānau. It's a privilege to be part of such a significant time in their lives.

Supporting every māmā

I am especially passionate about supporting young and vulnerable māmā because this was my journey so supporting others is an absolute privilege. I believe the care women receive during this important time can empower them, strengthen whānau, and ultimately change lives. Every woman/ birthing person deserves dedicated support, and it's an honour to provide that, especially to those who need it most.

"Jodi was an absolutely amazing during my pregnancy and birth. Her unwavering support and holistic approach made all the difference. I couldn't have asked for a better midwife!"

A happy māmā from North Shore
